Martinez Vineyard
Our seventh vintage from this vineyard located on Pritchard Hill at 1200 feet in elevation above Oakville. We continue to strive to craft wines we love with the three Bordeaux varietals from this spectacular site. A complex wine that builds in crescendo with graphite, iron, wet stone, black currant and tobacco. The wine exhibits intense minerality along side beautiful elements such as cocoa bean, lavender and violets. There is a restrained masculinity about this wine that is demonstrated in its long lasting textural tannins and superb length of finish.

Our third vintage from this vineyard located on Pritchard Hill at 1200 feet in elevation above Oakville. We continue to learn what kind of wines we can craft with these three varieties from this particular site. The natural intensity from this vineyard has created a full throttle Cabernet. Its exuberant dark blackberry nose with touches of graphite, tobacco, licorice and hot gravel. An incredibly structured wine with a pure mountain fruit expression, this stunner will benefit with a bit more bottle age and drink well for decades.

Our second vintage of this wine coming from Pritchard Hill at 1200 feet in elevation above St. Helena. We continue to learn what kind of wines we can craft with these three varieties from this particular site. The iconic wines from this area are noted for their complexity and this wine is no exception. The aromas of minerality and crushed rock along with dark cherry, strawberry and toast leap from the glass. There is superb tension in the wine, yet it is seductive and has what we would characterize as tight power. An incredible multi-dimensional wine with superb length and refined tannins.

"The iron rich soils and huge boulders reminiscent of "The Hill" are the foundation for this dauntless wine."
~ Philippe & Cherie Melka, proprietors
Our debut vintage of this wine coming from Pritchard Hill at 1200 feet above St. Helena. With the rich, red, iron filled soils that many have come to appreciate, the Martinez Vineyard has been a labor of love and we are very proud to have created a wine with such dimension. The nose is dense, black cherry and dark chocolate giving way to an opulent wine with ripeness and structure yet extremely juicy and fresh. The higher percentage of Petit verdot in this wine has a definite influence in its structure and also provides its freshness. The wine starts and finishes with tannins that are firm along with a hint of licorice in the finish. We suggest decanting three to four hours prior to serving.
